1971 50th Anniversary Reunion Dinner

Saturday 2nd July 2022

Bookings for this event have now closed. Please contact events@clare.cam.ac.uk for any late registrations.

We have pleasure in extending an invitation from the Master and Fellows of Clare College to the 1971 Reunion Dinner, marking the 50th anniversary of your matriculation at Clare.

The dinner will be held in College on Saturday 2nd July 2022, with pre-dinner drinks in the Scholars’ Garden (or in Old Court if wet) from 7.00pm, and dinner in the Gillespie Centre at 7.45pm. Dress code is lounge suits or equivalent. In light of the significance of the 50th anniversary of your matriculation, you are most welcome to bring a guest to the event.

Places at the dinner are limited and bookings will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no charge for this event but we do advise that you book early to avoid disappointment.

To register your place at the dinner, please complete the online booking form. To book in your guest please use the sections of the form titled with #2.

During the day, we warmly invite you to join us for this year’s Clare Gala Day taking place in College.  Gala Day is a free event and is suitable for all ages, so please do bring the whole family! Gala Day is a great opportunity to spend the day in Clare, together with your family and friends. This year we have created a programme of fascinating talks, interactive sessions, beautiful music and much more. There is certainly something for everyone. A full programme of the day's activities will be available on our website. (Please note that children are to be supervised by their parents or carers at all times throughout the day.) An email will be sent out to all alumni soon with further details.

We also invite you to contribute to a reunion booklet for your class year, which will be handed out on the evening. Please email events@clare.cam.ac.uk before Friday 17th June 2022 with a short biography of no more than 350 words and a photo if you would like one included.

Clare Boat Club is pleased to invite any of its members attending the dinner to visit Clare Boathouse on Sunday 3rd July at 10.30am. You then have the option of joining a one hour cruise along the River Cam on the ‘Rosie’ riverboat at 11am (limited to 12 people; this will be booked on a first-come, first-served basis) or rowing in a four or the tub.  Please indicate your preference when registering. For the avoidance of doubt, both of these options are for Clare Boat Club members only.

A number of rooms have been reserved in College for the night of Saturday 2nd July 2022. The cost of a room is £89.10 per night for a single en-suite and £107.10 per night for a twin en-suite, these are inclusive of the alumni discount.  To book accommodation, please visit https://clareconferencing.com/bed-and-breakfast and enter the promotional code ‘1971REN’, otherwise the option to book a room for this date will not appear on the page.  If you need to contact the Conferencing Office, please telephone 01223 333203 or email conferencing@clare.cam.ac.uk.
